Abandonment value

Abandonment value – this term is used in the Insolvency Law in some legal systems, where it details the liquidation cash value of a concrete material asset. I.e. this would be a fair market value which the creditors of the debtor could receive if they take the burdened asset on a public auction or re-sale. Usually, the abandonment value of an asset is calculated by an independent evaluator.
