Adoptive parent

Adoptive parent – this term is used in the Family Law. There it details the figure a parent who is not the biological parent of a concrete child but the one proclaimed as a legal parent by the court. This usually happens during adoption procedure by which the rights and obligations of the natural parents towards their child are extinguished and equivalent rights and obligations are given to the adopter or adopters, to whom the child then stands in all respects as if it has been born to them in marriage.
