Alleged criminal offence

Alleged criminal offense – this legal term finds an application in the sphere of Criminal Law in some legal systems. Usually, it refers to a presumed crime, which prosecution cannot prove, and respectively cannot press charges. The event of the crime may be supposed or declared by a person, but still, there is not enough evidence that it has happened. Until supported by strong pieces of evidence, it is considered as an alleged criminal offense.
