Attorney or Attorney at law – this is an alternate term for lawyers or ” barrister” and “solicitor”. It details the figure of a person that has been educated and experienced in the law and that has been certified by the local Bar Chamber to be a bona fide lawyer with the capacity to give legal advice to people or to represent others in the courtroom.
Note that attorneys at law do not practice law (i.e. perform legal examination) for free. Their personal advocacy is paid. So when asking a lawyer for their legal examination on a concrete legal issue, or to represent you in court hall, you should pay them for their opinion and legal advice/representation; it is the same as when you visit a doctor and pay for their competent diagnose and accurate medical treatment.
