Charging lien – in most jurisdictions this legal term refers to reserved right for a lawyer on respective part of the sum won for their client on a civil lawsuit, in order to cover their legal fees against the work already done by the lawyer for winning the lawsuit. In other words, in such case the lawyer is entitled to get part of the awarded money by court in favor of their client.
