Grant of probate – in most jurisdictions, in the area of the Inheritance Law, the term refers to official document, issued by state authority, detailing the inheritances of a deceased person (in some countries including a description of the assets of the deceased too) and confirming that the appointed executors of a will are permitted to deal with the assets of the deceased person (somewhere detailed too). Somewhere similar role has the official Certificate for inheritors, issued by the local municipality where the deceased person lived.
