Independent Contractor – within the sphere of the Employment Law, this term refers to the legal figure of someone who is bona fide and works under a temporary contract of services, as opposed to a standard permanent labor contract. Therefore in most jurisdictions, independent contractors have less rights and labor protections than the regular employees working on a permanent labor agreement.
