Quantum meruit – The term comes from Latin and is used for “as much as is deserved.” This is legal rule applying in the area of Law of Contracts, where provides that a person should not be obliged to pay, nor should another be allowed to receive, more than the value of the goods or services exchanged between them. Also it refers to the payent for a job done in performance of breach of contract, or done without a contract; i.e. any type of job done, which should not be awarded as in the normal circumstances.
