Lis pendens – From Latin: this term refers to legal dispute or matter which is the subject of ongoing or pending litigation. The local police investigators or the procecutors will sometimes refuse to discuss before journalists a concrete legal matter or legal issue which is “lis pendens” because they do not want their comments to be perceived as an attempt to affect the investigation process at the local court of law.
