Lease – within the sphere of Contracts & Obligations Law, this term details a special kind of agreement, covering the leases relationship between a real estate owner (landlord) and another person (tenant) who wants to receive temporary enjoyment and use of the property, in exchange for rent paid to the real estate owner, mostly in money. In some countries the property Laws specify deadlines for lease of land, and also give the option such lease contracts to be registered in the local Land Registry Agency for protecting the interests of the tenant. Where the property is land, a building, or parts of either, the property owner is called a landlord and the person that contracts to receive the temporary enjoyment and use is called a tenant.
