Parenting plan – this legal phrases is used in Divorce Trials, where both ex-spouses decide who will exercise the physical custody of the children – namely who will organize and administer the day to day residential care, feed and parental supervision of a child, and who will perform the legal custody, which sets which person will make decisions on behalf and in the name of the child. Usually the ex-spouses agree that the children live with one of the parents, while the other parent will only see them from time to time, while the legal custody is mutual only. This parental plan, agreed between the parties, turns into parental contract, usually implemented in the text of the court decision, which is called “parenting order”. Somewhere a synonym is “parenting contract”.
