Pia Fraus – this phrase comes from Latin and literally it means “pious fraud”. Within the area of Criminal Law, it refers to crimes, or disobeyance against the Law and the public order, due to the personal understanding of the person about their own religion. I.e. the criminal puts their own religion and its moral rules & views before the public orders and local legislation rules.
