Pledge

Pledge – this term has two alternative meanings:

in most jurisdictions, this term refers to a declaration made according to the concrete legislation, before a competent officer to detail the truth as a valid statement or to perform a certain legal activity. – pledge is also considered as a deposit of personal property burdened by the debtor, called “the pledger” in favor of the creditor as security for a personal loan of money. The creditor, who is called “the pledger” has the legal right to sell the property in case of non-payment and collects the debt.
