Quote – the term is used in the sphere of Commercial Law to detail the highest bid made for buying a certain item, or the lowest offer for selling a certain item. For example, a lawyer could be asked by their prospective client to give them a quote of their fees for the legal work proposed to be done. The lawyer’s proposal to do a certain legal job for certain amount of money is called “a quote”.

Note that lawyers and attorneys-at-law all over the world do not work for free; their job is paid, so when for example, you are asking a lawyer to perform legal actions on your behalf or for their legal opinion on a concrete legal issue, you should pay them for their opinion and legal advice; it is the same like when you visit a doctor and pay for diagnose and medical treatment.
