Probationary employment – this legal term is used in the sphere of Labor Law in some jurisdictions. It details a temporary employment, which has the goal to review the skills and labor abilities of the candidate for permanent job position (who is called “probationer”). The probationary employment legally can be cancelled by each party without further liabilities and obligations. As well it ends with expiration of its term, without obliging the employer to hire the probationer, if he is not satisfied with the shown results in his labor. Could be detailed as a form of exploratory employment.
