Promisee

Promisee – This legal term is used within the area of Law of Contracts, where it details the figure of a person who is to be the beneficiary of a promise or an obligation within a contract. The promissee has agreed/promised to receive in his/her favor the performance of certain obligation by the other party. The promisee is the party which benefits from the fulfillment of the obligations. Synonymous to “obligee”. The opposite term is “promisor” – i.e. the person who has obliged to fulfil certain obligation towards the promisee.
