Proximate damages – in the area of Tort Law this legal term details the straight and direct damages that occur from the committed tort. It is possible the expected damages to be considered also as proximate damages. The opposite term is “remote damages” – i.e. these damages, not occurring directly from and as a natural result of the wrongful action or tort.
