Public shaming

Public shaming – the Criminal Law in many countries defines the public shaming as a sanction for some types of small offences. It may include work in benefit of the public (for example, to clean streets for free for some period) or taking lessons in special groups, organized for such types of offenders. The goal is to punish and to give example to the others so they do not commit this offense in the future. Synonyms are “public disgrace” and “public humiliation”.
