Revendication – this legal term comes from the Latin “revandicatio”, which literally means “restore”. In the area of property law, this legal term refers to the act of receipt of title of real estate that is currently in somebody else’s possession. The revendication claim is major legal instrument in the Real Estate Law that helps the owner to restore Title rights. For example, in the conveyance procedures, if the property seller has not received the price of the real estate they sold to the buyer, a revendication claim may be submitted in the court of law for claiming back the ownership of the property. It is legal instrument for protection of ownership rights, because the owner claims the property from any person who is holding the possession of the property without legal reason.
