Scope of authority

Scope of authority – this term applies to the Law of contracts. It refers to situations where a proxy or agent has acted on the basis of a letter of authorization. The scope of authority aims to find out if he/she has had the rights to perform the legal activities on behalf of the authorizer. Therefore scope relies on the given rights in the letter of authorization (or the power of attorney).
