Alimony

Alimony – within the Family Law, this term defines an amount given by one spouse to another while they are separated after the divorce. This is a legal obligation of a physical individual to give financial support to an ex-spouse or a child. It is important to say that alimony is usually awarded by the court for a concrete term (depending on the local legislation).

Alimony is usually given on monthly or annual basis, and for a particular term (depending on the concrete legal systems). Some jurisdictions set up rules for spending the alimony.
