Capital – this legal term has several different meaning, depending of where it has got application:
1) Within the civil procedures in courts this term is used to detail the money that the claimant pursues from the defendant, but without adding the interest, compensation or other expenses on top of it – only the pure amount of the sole debt. A synonym here is “principal”, which shares the same meaning.
2) In the area of Corporate Law it refers to the money invested for establishing a company, which the company can use for performance of trading activities. Somewhere called “raising capital”.
3) In the sphere of Administrative Law capital refers to the administrative center of a country, where usually the presidential authority is situated.
