General restraint of trade – in the area of the Commercial Law in most jurisdictions this term has been used to detail an illegal restraint being a monopoly agreement not to carry on a certain business anywhere. Performance of such restraints is prohibited by the local Commissions for protection of the competitors (or authorities with similar role).
