Moot court – this term refers to a fictional or hypothetical trial, usually hosted by local law faculties in specially designated court halls, as training for future barristers or litigators.
Moot point – Also called in some jurisdictions only as a “moot”: this legal term describes a side issue, problem or question which does not have to be decided to resolve the main issues in a legal dispute, mostly because the controversy has not actually arisen, or has ended already.
