Parallel import – this legal phrase in terms of Patent Law refers to fake and misleading product (usually an imitation of famous or well-selling items, but with much lower quality), that has been illegally imported within the local market without the approval by the legal owner of the brand. Usually such imports are done to save from producing cheaper imitations and avoiding the patent taxes payable to brand owners.
