Personal servitude – this phrase in the area of Real Estate Law details a legal right given in relation to use someone else’s land or house for a certain period. The personal servitude has a similar role like legal burden on the estate and once established and registered in the local Land Register, it may be defended against any third parties and future Title holders, who are obliged to obey it. A similar personal right is the personal residence trust – a trust in which the grantor gives to the trust their residence home or premises, but keeps legal right to live there till the rest of their life. A synonym of this phrase is “personal easement”.
