Practice Directions

Practice Directions – This phrase refers to the steps to be followed by parties to a legal dispute prior to lsubmitting legal action in court. The aim of the practice directions is to increase the co-operation between parties and therefore the chances of an early settlement of the dispute, before involving the court in any way to proclaim which party is guilty. This is why there is one legal principle that says “the worst voluntary settlement agreement is better than any court decision”.
