Probative – this term could have two different meanings:

– it is used in the area of Court Trials, where refers to something that is used for proving in court a fact or circumstance. I.e. it has probative force. If there is no probative force for the evidence or testimony, then it should be excluded by the judge when measuring the pot of evidences.

– It also could mean an inspection by the Governmental Authorities of border customs (usually for hidden import/export goods and for unpaid duty teas).
