Realtor – the Commercial Law uses this term to detail the figure of property or real estate broker, also known as “real estate agent”. In some countries realtors participates in professional associations, in order to secure the moral and ethic in their job. This is very important, since in many countries the realtor has only the role to market/advertise a property, and is not the actual seller, neither the buyer. In other developing countries, realtors are not regulated by chambers and as intermediaries do not have business insurance for damages towards clients. A synonym is “property broker”.
