Remand

Remand – This verb applies in the Criminal Law. It details the act of ordering for accused person to be kept in custody or placed on bail pending further appearance in court. Usually the pursued goal of such remand is to ensure that the convicted person won’t escape and hide from the justice, or to prevent him/her to commit another crime. Usually a person, who has killed another person in extremely horror way, is kept in jail so he cannot do it again. Synonyms are “detain” and “restrict”.
