Repairman’s lien – in practice, this term refers to a procedure available in some legal systems, which secures the payment for work and parts of a builder who performs building works on real estate. Using the Repairman’s lien, the builder establishes legal burden on the constructed real estate, in order to secure his payment for the work already done, if the assignor eventually does not pay for it. The origin of the term is the word “repair”, which means to restore an item to its previous operating condition.
