Return of investment – in the Real Estate Law this legal term refers to the income achieved by the investor, which compensates him/her for the sum of money invested in particular development. For example, if a person buys a holiday apartment and rents it out – then the rental income is the return of his investment. In alternative example, a successful lawsuit for refund due to non-performance by the developer, leads to collecting of the money previously invested, i.e. to return of investment.
The return of investment may be established if the income acquired, is divided with the sum of the investment. The result is the return of investment.
