Right of Audience

Right of Audience – In many legal systems the rights of audience entitles a person to appear before a Court in a legal capacity and conduct proceedings on their behalf, or on behalf of a party to the proceedings. For example, in the court procedure, he figure of a lawyer has a right of audience – to submit and proceed on court claims on behalf of their clients. The right of audience is so important, and usually (depending of the jurisdiction) avoiding it is a serious defect of the process and may lead to successful appeal.
