Screening – this term applies to the sphere of Criminal Law in some countries. Screening refers to the written order by the prosecutor in the form of a decision whether there are enough pieces of evidence showing a committed crime by the concrete person under investigation. So with this order, they take the case to court. Or alternatively, there could be not enough pieces of evidence against the person under investigation. So the criminal proceeding will be ended with screening without any accusation.

A synonym of “screening” is “papering”.
