Scrip certificate

Scrip certificate – this legal term finds application in the Corporate Law. There it refers to an official document, issued either by the Companies House (Register of Companies) or by an authorized agent. The scrip certificate showing the shares which a concrete person holds in a company (or in other corporate entity). Basically, this is a certificate of ownership of shares. Therefore this type of information about the shareholders usually is being implemented in the Certificate of Standing of a company.

The scrip could also refer to warrants issued to a municipal or another type of treasury. These are issued for collecting by the person named in the certificate.
