Abridgment of damages

Abridgment of damages – this term is used in the Litigation Procedures. There it details a reducing of damage costs in certain lawsuits, done by the court. For example, where the guilt of the defendant is not so serious, or in cases where the plaintiff claims too much money as compensation. So their claim is not corresponding to the amount of the occurred damaged by them.
