Acknowledgement of service – when the particulars of a claim form (outlining details of the claim) are served on (delivered to) a defendant together with the claim, they receive a response pack including a receipt which they must sign in order to acknowledge they have received the claim. Then in some term provised by the Law, the defendant must file (return) the acknowledgment form in the form of response of the claim, in some jurisdictions, within a month of receiving the particulars of the claim
