Lawyer-witness rule

Lawyer-witness rule – this is a legal rule in many jurisdictions, where prohibiting a lawyer from serving as attorney and a witness on the same trial – two capacities can not be mixed within one and the same legal process. Note that representation in court by lawyer is not free, i.e. any information you may request to get from a lawyer, you may have to pay for. Just like you go to a doctor and you pay for his services, it is the same when you visit a lawyer with your request for legal representation.
