Abigeus – this term comes from Latin. It has been used in the ancient Roman Law. Basically, it refers to the figure of a thief – a person who steals lots of cattle. Cattle number was one of the common ways to determinate how rich a person was. It was easy to trade cattle since they were source of food, leather and income for their owner. Therefore it was a subject of theft very often.
