Potestas – this term comes from Latin. It has several different meanings:

– in the sphere of Administrative Law, it refers to the powers given to an official authority or institution;

– in the area of court trials, it details the legal right of a judge to enforce Law.

– within the meaning, given by the Family Law, it describes the authority which a parent has over their children.
