Relator

Relator– within the area of Criminal Law, this legal term refers to the figure of an informer (i.e. a deliverer of information). In most jurisdictions the relator is a person who has supplied in court the facts required for a criminal prosecution or a civil suit. He acts as a witness of the prosecution. Usually the relator is not an expert witness and does not issue technical reports. A synonym is “reporter”.
