Right of survivorship

Right of survivorship – the Inheritance Law some legal systems recognize a legal right of co-owner, to inherit the other co-owner’s right of title on case of death. Such right grants the survived co-owner that they may acquire the title on the whole property. This is why the right of survivorship is privileged right before the rights of the heirs of the deceased person. In order to take effect, there have to be present the following conditions:

– Legal and valid co-ownership of the property (real estate, vehicle, bank account, etc.). It called also “joint tenancy”.

– Death event, where one of the co-owners dies.
